Arranging the Funeral

When some one dies it comes as a great shock. Sometimes the death may be expected, but nothing prepares you for the emotional shock of losing someone close.

When you suffer bereavement, arranging the funeral for a member of your family or a friend can be painful. At Lochalsh Parish Church we are here to support and help you in any way that we can. Please be assured of our prayers for you, your family and friends.

The Funeral Service

When you request the services of our minister for a funeral, then we would understand that you are asking for a Christian service. A funeral service conducted by a minister would include Christian prayers and Bible readings. The funeral service normally lasts 30 minutes. We are more than happy to make our Church buildings available to you for the service, and would provide the services of an organist if required.

We do not charge for the use of the Church for a funeral, but would be happy to accept a donation towards Church funds should you wish to do so.

Bereavement Support

After the conduct of a funeral we continue to offer you bereavement support. This involves the minister or one of our elders making pastoral visits at your request.

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
